Euroavia Paris offers the BIA at EPF Cachan: this year, why not get your first aviation certificate ?
Have you always dreamed about aviation and space, but don’t know where to start at EPF ? Euroavia has the answer. Since last year, the association has offered a training program to prepare for the BIA, the Brevet d’Initiation Aéronautique (Aviation Introduction Certificate), and it’s open to everyone. You don’t need to be good at aerodynamics, and you don’t need any experience in a cockpit. The BIA is made for people who want to discover this world.
What is the BIA, exactly ?
The Brevet d’Initiation Aéronautique is an official certificate. It is given by the French Ministry of Education, together with the civil aviation authorities. It was created in 1968, and since then, it has trained generations of people who love aviation, before many of them became pilots, engineers, or mechanics.
In practice, the BIA gives you a solid general knowledge of aviation and space: the history of aviation, weather (meteorology), the basics of flight, aerodynamics, types of aircraft, navigation, and flight safety…
Here are some good reasons to try it:
- It’s the first certificate in the world of aviation, even before the LAPL or PPL (pilot licenses).
- Schools and recruiters in the aviation and space sector see it as a real plus.
- And most importantly: it’s a chance to meet other passionate people, talk with professionals, and sometimes even go on your first flight.
