Inauguration of Our Flight Simulator

This is an important moment filled with pride for our entire team. After several years, an ambitious project that we have been working on for a long time has finally come to life. We are very proud to officially announce the inauguration of EUROAVIA Paris’ brand-new flight simulator. This modern equipment makes a long-term dream come true and marks a key milestone for our association and the student aerospace community.

The completion of this project supports three main goals for our association. First, it offers a welcoming space where both experienced student pilots and beginners can share a realistic flight experience. Second, for students specializing in Aerospace Engineering at EPF, this simulator is a great learning tool that connects classroom theory with practical experience in flight mechanics and aerodynamics. Finally, it helps inspire young people during Open Days and local visits by showing them what flying feels like.

On the technical side, everything was chosen to ensure great realism. At the center of the system is an HP OMEN 35L computer powered by an Intel Core i7 processor, 32 GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti graphics card, offering smooth performance and clear visuals. For a fully immersive view, we use a large 49-inch Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 curved monitor with a 144 Hz refresh rate.

The flight experience relies on professional-grade controls from the Honeycomb brand, including the Alpha Flight Controls yoke, the Bravo Throttle Quadrant, and the Charlie Rudder Pedals. The whole system is fixed on a 3-axis DOF Reality H3 Flight dynamic platform with a bucket seat and a strong frame, reproducing real aircraft movements like pitch, roll, and yaw in real-time.

Completing this long project would not have been possible without the strong support of our partners. We want to warmly thank EPF École d’Ingénieurs for their guidance, the City of Cachan for supporting student projects, and Dassault Aviation for their valuable sponsorship. The cockpit is ready for your first test flights, and we look forward to seeing you at the controls!
